THE DAY THAT EVERYTHING CHANGED IN AN INSTANT.
I was in the flow of life - yet I had no idea my world would be shaken to its core in a matter of minutes…
We had made many life plans but Allah, Al-Alim, Al-Hakim (The All Knowing, The All Wise) had chosen a very different path for my family.
In the early hours on a Sunday morning in March 2022, my husband who was generally fit and healthy, suffered a sudden heart attack and his soul returned to Allah without any warning. May Allah SWT have mercy on his beautiful soul.
In that moment, I lost my best friend and my children lost their father - and no words can describe the utter devastation we felt…

The life of this world is nothing but a tiny, insignificant speck compared to the eternal home in the hereafter.
The Prophet SAW said:
‘Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveller/wayfarer.’
[Bukhari]
Sadly, most people are simply far too distracted with the here and now to REALLY pay attention to the next life.
As Allah SWT says in the Quran:
‘And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion but the home of Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah. Will you not then reason?’
(Surah Al-An’aam, v32)
Being a traveller isn’t about rejecting this world…
Rather, it’s having a mindset that’s geared towards pleasing Allah and having the attitude and actions of a true believer.
Ali (RA) said:
‘Detachment is not that you should own
nothing but that nothing should own you’
