When Allah Sends You the Right People at the Right Time

Assalaamu’alaykum,
There’s a duaa I’ve quietly carried with me for years.
I’ve spoken it through many seasons of change, especially each time I moved, whether to a new area or a foreign country.
It’s a duaa I’ve called out to Allah, sometimes in anticipation, sometimes through the lonelier stretches of life:
Ya Allah, bless me with good company. The kind that reminds me of You.
Because you can’t really put a value on righteous companionship.
True suhba is one of the greatest mercies in this journey.
It’s the difference between feeling like you’re walking alone, sometimes struggling in the dark and walking with people who light the way and leave your heart scented with faith.
The Prophet ﷺ likened good company to a musk seller. Just being near them leaves you carrying their scent, you leave with your soul stirred, your heart softened and your direction reset. That’s what sincere company feels like.
There was a time when my own circle, the closest friends I leaned on, disappeared almost all at once.
Some left due to personal hardships. At the same time, others moved abroad or no longer felt inspired to stay.
And suddenly, I found myself in a stillness that felt strange… like the support I had grown accustomed to, was removed quite suddenly.
But I kept making duaa:
Send me those who love You, Ya Allah. And let us be reminders to one another, for Your sake alone.
SubhanAllah, almost instantly, I received a call. An invitation to become one of the co-founders of a new Islamic organisation in the area.
I said yes, not knowing then that this was an answer dressed in service.
Because almost overnight, I found myself surrounded by women who were purposeful in their deen. Women who were striving, showing up, working for something bigger than themselves. It wasn’t just a team, it was a gift.
My circle hadn’t just been replaced, it had been refined.
That’s the beauty of Allah’s mercy. When something is taken, something better is written in its place, sometimes before we even realise what’s happening.
Community doesn’t have to be big to be powerful. Sometimes it’s a single person who sees you. Sometimes it’s a space where hearts meet briefly but sincerely.
What matters is the impact, not just on your outer life, but on your inner world.
So if you’re in a season where your circle feels quiet or scattered, keep making duaa .
Ask for a travel buddy (as one of the sisters in my membership puts it :)
Ask for musk sellers.
Ask for suhba that nourishes the heart and stirs your soul and brings you closer to the best version of yourself (in the eyes of Allah).
Because when you make space for them in your duaa, Allah makes space for them in your life, often in the most beautiful and unexpected of ways.

Reflection of the Week
Think about the people in your life:
whose company is helping you draw nearer to Allah?
And whose presence might be quietly pulling you away?
Dua of the Week
The best duaa for the Day of ‘Arafah, as taught by the Prophet ﷺ, is:
ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ ۚ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِىِّۦ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِى مُسْلِمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous. (Surah Yusuf :101)
